This series is loosely based on the painting by Judith Leyster, titled, “The Proposition.” I appreciate the lighting emphasis and body positioning as well as complete disregard of the man’s suggestions by the woman. The subject matter I altered to a more juvenal tone but utilized the technique of Chiaroscuro lighting, light paints a portrait, an homage to Judith Leyster and other the Dutch Masters of the Golden Age.
